McCoy House

Date Built: Circa 1869.Historic Period: American.Reconstructed in 2000.

The house was originally built in 1869 by Sheriff James McCoy as a wedding present for his wife Winifred. An archaeological exposure behind the house reveals the foundations of an adobe owned by Eugenia Silvas, which pre-dated the McCoy house. The building was reconstructed in 2000 and houses a series of displays interpreting the history of early San Diego.
